A client of ours has recently tried to install Google Analytics on their Litecommerce storefront and has had a problem with the emails the store generates ever since.
What's happening is the email subject is pulling .tpl code (from somewhere) and actually embedding it into the "new order" email. Here's a sample: Subject: <!-- start: order_created_admin/subject.tpl -->OUR CLIENT: Order receipt #7680! <!-- end: order_created_admin/subject.tpl -->I've gone into the .tpl files and removed the Analytics code that was added, but the subject of the emails are still incorrect. Has anyone seen this before and/or have advice for me on where to look for the fix?

Wige,
Thanks for taking the time to reply, but I wouldn't have the first clue on how to do what you said I've already gone through the library files that I know were changed and removed the specific Analytics code. It just seems that there's another rogue file out there I haven't identified yet. The one we edited already was the invoice.tpl file though.

What development software do you use for the website? (In other words, do you use Dreamweaver to edit before uploading?) Also, do you have telnet or command line access to the server?

Wige,
We can use DW to edit the files or use the web-based editing available from LiteCommerce. We usually copy the code from the web-based system into DW and then back. Do you have any idea which file(s) would need to be looked at for the Analytics coding?

I would probably have to pick apart the LiteCommerce code to know that. If you download all of the source code into DW and do a search for part of the added text that shows up in the subject line, though, you should get a list of all files that have the code, and fix it that way.

I'm having the same problem without Google Analytics. I've checked all the email templates with no luck. Did you ever find a solution?
The store I am setting up isn't live yet, and this problem has been around since the begining...I'd like to not use support points if I can help it! tt |

To get rid of displaying templates information in e-mail subjects please try to edit etc/config.php in LiteCommerce installation and turn off 'verbose' settings. I hope it will help you. Please let me know the results. |

Brilliant! It fixed it perfectly!
Thanks for the tip -- I knew I had the debug mode on, but it never occured to me that it would affect the emails...silly me. I really appreciate your assistance! Best & Happy Holidays! tt |
