Default Checkout Process Help

I need some help finding a program that provides JUST the checkout, processing handling, and notification system NOT the full shopping cart.

My client has one product at present and will be expanding to probably 10 or 20 within the next 2 years. But with so few products, they want custom pages for each product. In doing so the flow will look like this:

Product Page -> Checkout form -> Processing ->Approved/Declined/Thank you -> Notifications.

They want the information stored in a database with some simple functionality to view and manage orders. They also want real time shipping quotes with the major US postal/courier companies.

I looked at PHP Simple Shop, and that was close to what I was looking for, but not quite and they no longer offer support or modifications for this.

I guess if there is a cart system out there that allows you to pick and choose what functionality of it want to use and plug the related bits into the site as required, that would fit my bill.

I have some PHP programming and can make simple changes, but not enough to tackle something like this on my own.

So can anyone point me to a checkout/cart system that fits that bill - OR - is anyone willing to make a few bucks and tackle some custom mods to PHP Simple Shop?

Immediate help is required.

Thanks

Even though you have a simple transaction data path, technically what you describe is still a shopping cart. You may have better luck looking at shopping carts. Most can be configured to follow the exact same flow as you describe and you'll have a much wider selection to choose from. Good luck.

How did you make out?

I agree with Shift... with all the functionality you need, plus the fact you will be adding more products, you may as well go with a "regular" shopping cart system.
You can always disable functions you don't need.

I would also recommend you to use shopping cart. In this case you won't have to duplicate information about your products. If you choose to add 'cart' to your site then you will need to enter information about products on both your site and e-commerce database that is not that inconvenient if you have only 10-20 products however still may be irritating. So i would recommend you to use software.

What's more you can find shopping cart where you will be able to assign separate template/design for each product, i would recommend http://LiteCommerce.com to do that. As I know it has some module that allows to choose different templates for each product. Check the site, it may help you.

Cheers!
