Default Does Google Checkout has any advantage over Paypal Services?

Hi webproworld members,

As an online business owner, you already understand the importance of your web site’s search engine submission. Search engine palcement is crucial to the success of your online business. The big three search engines Google, Yahoo! and MSN attract the most search traffic, but listings in a wide range of search engines help you tap into search engine visitors and ensure comprehensive search engine visibility.

We have launched our new service "search engine submission" to offer FREE submission to CorrectSearch and submit to hundred of search engines and directories at an affordable price for online search submission for small and mid-size business owners. I have used Paypal services in the past to sell other products. Paypal service is very user freindly and all my customers are happy with it. Now that Google Checkout is available and it can be integrated with your Adword ads. I would like to offer Google Checkout to my customers.

I would like to know that anyone has experience with Google Checkout. Is it easy to use as a Customer/Merchant. Should I stick to Paypal services Or offer both Paypal and Google Checkout? Does Google Checkout has any advantage over Paypal?

I will appreciate your suggestion/feedback.

GCO is currently free, and if you do adwords advertising the cost can be greatly reduced.

We implemented it a while back, and it instantly become more used than paypal. Personally, i would offer it in addition to paypal. Since most countries aren't supported with GCO, it isn't a subtable replacement for paypal.

Implementing it is a pain, but I think that there are probably more support and ready made scripts, than when I integrated, which was a few weeks after it was released.

Here's the review I wrote a while back.

Google checkout prices suck in the United Kingdom right now,

Up until the start of 2008 they are offering all transactions for free....that sounds good, but unless you are spending over 3k on adwords per month it will bite you back next year.

They are charging 1.5% + £0.15 per transaction after, and that sucks. On average Worldpay charge 1.2% (we looked into this a week ago)

To summarise, if you are paying over 3k (UK Sterling) on Adwords per month it might (almost) make sense, otherwise there are much better deals out there

Google seems to be to be taking over the world like Tesco are in the UK.

I agree, there are many good and reputed payment processors already in UK with good network like worldpay, chronopay, moneybookers, protx, nochex etc, I don't see any specific advantage you are going to gain with GCO paying them higher.

Wow! I guess I need to update my info. Worldpay and others must have come WAY down in price. The last numbers I heard was in the 4.5+% range -- 1.2 is better than the US. If anyone has actual cost percentages&fees for any of the UK or other European processors and would be willing to post them, it would be greatly appreciated!
