Default

For what it's worth, I would say that Storefront is probably one of our most able competitors. I would ask to speak to some of their clients if you are serious. If you would ever be interested in comparing the two, I would love to show you a demo sometime.

I doubt you'll find any users in here though. The people at the companies who use it probably don't frequent WebPro.

Good Luck!

Default StoreFront E-Commerce

I've used StoreFront for a couple clients. It's a pretty sophisticated software package that requires some knowledge, but it's really flexible and full-featured, expecially when you get the source code version. Also, it's PCI certified, which I think means the credit card companies have approved its security protocals.

Hope this helps.

Default Plan for Technology Learning Curve When Evaluating Ecommerce

Hello all,

There are doubtless many platforms for developing an ecommerce operation. The important thing to remember in my view is that if you plan on learning the software you do choose, you will be way ahead of many other people who simply install something and think, I will learn how to use this later.

The easiest way to plan for this or simply prepare is to download and run demos. Access the support systems online and installed. Prepare a list of tasks that you will need to do regularly and discover how easy it is for you or your staff.

Both the platforms that are referenced in this thread are no doubt robust and flexible solutions. The question is will you or your staff be able to perform updates and changes to the store so that you can contiously improve your performance.

It is also helpful to have concrete objectives in mind and also a solid understanding of exactly what you need your ecommerce operation to accomplish. It is certainly possible for online store managers to end up with way more software then they need to accomplish their goals.
