Default Website in multiple languages

Hi there,

I have been tasked to look into the possibilities of creating a website in three languages.

We have been told that it is essential (SEO) to have the appropriate top level domains (co.uk/de/nl) and also host the sites in the appropriate countries.

How would we be able to do this in the most effective way? We would like to have only one database (or similar solution?), where we can edit, add or delete product information/photos without any problems (in all languages).

Currently we are using Netsuite for our Website as it integrates very well with our backend. Is there any way to do this with Netsuite? Or would we be better off to do it separately?

Has anyone experience with Netsuite? I found that their forum is too "empty" to give me any clues...

Our main objective is to streamline everything we can and to do this in the most cost-effective way...

It would be great if you could give me some advice.

lala

Default In wrong place?

As there are no replies so far I wondered if I posted my thread in the wrong section?

Hi Lala

I have a custom ecommerce system which runs multiple languages, you can see it in action at www.seedsman.com (Not Safe For Work, sells Cannabis Seeds). Seedsman has a complete site translation (products, invoices, everything) into German, English, Spanish, Dutch and French. (Translated button graphics being uploaded this week.)

Cheers,

Simon

Hi Simon,

We kind of found a solution for now. Will keep your site bookmarked in case...Thank you for your offer:-)

Great site. How do you get away with selling your products? Don't you have lots of trouble?

Hi Lala

It's not my product, it's my client's business. It's legal to sell the seeds in the UK as "adult collectable souvenirs", not for germination. We make sure anyone who buys the seeds understand this...

...product aside, I think it's a great system[*] so let me know if I can help.

Good luck.

Cheers,

Simon

* Totally multi language friendly
* Checkout
* Can integrate with any payment provider
* Reviews
* People who bought this also bought
* Bestseller lists
* Search engine optimised (well that's the template code, but I wouldn't put out a template that wasn't)
* Order tracking
* Visitor/sales/basket size/conversion rate stats
* etc, etc

Default Re: Website in multiple languages

having used epages for a few years this product is pretty good and supports multiple languages, however we recently migrated to a new system called tradeIT from www.redtechnology.com/ecommerce and this system provides full multi language website content management as well as multi store capability both B2C and B2B. the system is asp.net / sql server based and allows the administration system to be split from the front end sites. also good general seo with search engine friendly url's and a bag of online marketing tools. best decison i have made was to port our multi country ecommerce sites across.
