Has anyone received "Hacker Safe" certification?
Hello,
I was considering getting approved from Hacker Safe on one of my sites to improve confidence from shoppers. Has anyone went through the process or know how much it costs?
I don't see their prices on their website and I dislike dealing with sales people when I have loads of work to do.
Thank you WPW community :)

Did that done that no improvment just money out of pocket.
expensive they will give certian sites cuts to get them up and smaller sites like me make up the difference so I quit them.
Best advertisment is testimonials word of mouth get them going as best you can I.

I checked into it and it was around $1,000. BBBOnline seemed to be a better option.

We have been using it for a year - it is pretty good. It's not htat expensive, maybe $50 / month (I don't remember, but its not enough for me to worry about it).
It actually provides useful scans of your server and when an issue crops up I send the results of the scan to my hosting provider and they fix the issue.
I didn't do a good test of how it impacted sales but it seems to have decreased the number of calls we get asking "is your site secure".

They tend to give a good deal the first year (for our two sites, it was ~$1250), then up it the second (it was over $1800 for the second year). Didn't do much for sales for us, either.
We moved to ControlScan, which has cost us less and has more thorough scans. They found lots of little items that ScanAlert never found, and one was actually a pretty major item affecting PCI compliance that wasn't ever reported on the first service.

It's a standard feature here, but we've never done any split testing to gauge effectiveness. Our customers wanted it so...
However, if you want the service, look for affiliate deals. The rate card rate is never really the rate.
Good Luck!

I think it goes for $249/mo but if you sign up through a shopping cart that's one of their partners (like 3dcart or Monstercommerce) then you get a $49/mo deal.
I would have to say that's the HackerSafe logo along with the BBB are the most common ones to find on online stores and visitors are getting used to these. And if you use a payment gateway like Authorize.net, Paypal or Google Checkout then it's definitely worth adding these to your site.

Has anyone A/B tested positive results on hackersafe?
Our bizrate logo tested higher on martial arts site , take a look at their service.
Does hackersafe let you cancel easily if you go with a 30 day trial? A while ago there was discussion on another forum of some bad experiences and I'm wondering if they still use those tactics.

They're tough to cancel after you've been with them for the duration of your contract. I'm not sure about after the 30 days.

They seem very expensive. I use Security Metrics. I have not compared the two but from what I'm reading here in this thread, they basically do the same scans and provide a site seal. I pay $139 per year.

Comodo has a scan program that is free for 6 months and suppose to improve your conversion rate 5% or they won't charge you.
Hackersafe sales man are a big hassle, had a conversion with one and was hell. Will never do business with a company that just hassles you and won't leave you alone.
