Default PP/Google Checkout Shopping Cart Loopback To Site Advice Pls

I have a potential client who wants something that sounds simple on its face but I'm not sure it can be done and any advice would be appreciated.

Using PayPal and/or Google Checkout, he wants a customer to be able to use checkout button to purchase a given item from his site and then after the transaction is completed at PP or GCheckout have his customer looped back immediately to his site to a "thank you for your purchase!" or simialar page at his own site where they can continue browsing his site.

This sounds like something that should have been done many times before. Has anyone done this or know how to do it?

Thanks in advance for your help, Yours, Kent

Normally you can specify a return URL in the gateway admin panel
