Default Remnant/Surplus Inventory Online - what gives?

Whats the deal with online remnant advertising and last-minute ad discounts? Will it ever be made freely available to buyers online in the future? I've been personally invetigating the issue but the only info Ive been able to find thus far about online remnant advertising is a blog - www.lastminuteadclub.org and some articles here and there. Are there are any sites out there that offer this? What exactly happens to this remnant inventory? Any ideas?? I'm interested in learning about remnant inventory and potential last-minute discount sales across all media, radio, TV, print, you name it! :)

I found one which is intriguing: http://www.mediabids.com They have a weekly newsletter which gives you the top ten ad deals. The site has a number of useful resources as well. I cannot vouch for the accuracy or usefulness of their services as I have not tried them yet but I intend to do so in the near future.

Let us know if you find more. I am always open to new ways of advertising, especially at discount prices.

Search on the articles, and you'll have a great jumping off point!

Thanks a bunch guys! I'll definitely take a look into mediabids and the links you mentioned Ronni.

That blog I mentioned does occasional reviews on sites that deal with remnant advertising EditFast. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be that many sites that cater to small players. But that could change very soon.
