Default Google Checkout It's Working

Just processed our first order today through Google Checkout everything seemed to work just fine I've only started to install it on one of our sites fireplacedistributor.com. It's a lot of work setting it up but hopefully the No-fee credit card processing will pay off. I'm curious as to how long it will take to get paid. I will keep you posted but so far it seems flawless!

Default Google Checkout

Things are looking good. First order 8/1 PM shipped 8/2 payment released 8/3. I wish the credit card companies worked that quick.

No fee until the end of the year... then it's normal fees but part of your AdWords spend back towards the fees. But yes, it looks pretty appealing. I just wish I had time to implement it.

Brian.

It takes time to implement. I use Yahoo for my stores and code has to be entereed idividualy for each product. But #1 Yahoo doesn't get their cut because the sale doesn't go through their cart #2 No fee processing through Google. It averages out to around 4% savings. If your adwords spending is up their your looking at a savings of $4,000 per $100,000 per month It looks better in my pocket! If you only spend $10,000 per month with adwords you can process $100,000 free after the trial period. This reduces your adwords cost down to $6,000 or only 6% for advertising. It's a win-win and worth the time and effort.

I'm not sure who you processed with but 24 - 48 hours is standard for most processors.

As far as google checkout, goes, I think it is great so far. From my experience on my website more people use it than paypal, the only exception was the first week we had it on there.

Still, credit cards through a merchant account easily outweigh GCO and Paypal combined for my site.

The integration is ugly at best, unless you are only doing the most basic implementation. Something they definitely need to work on it the simplicity of their API. They use a SOAP XML inteface which is very difficult to integrate with unless you have very good experience working with XML API's.

The other two benefits I have seen are the fee processing fees, if you are an adwords customer. Very nice feature. Also, the icon you get for your adwords ads, definitely does draw a little attention. In super saturated adwords markets even a little help is very worth it.
