refused merchant account

My bank will not let me have a merchant account because of past financial problems although they have let me open a business account. The problem is that i am unable to take credit card payments.
I have a Paypal account and cart system on my site but my target customers are unlikly to(and won't)join Paypal to buy something off of my site.
Is there any other way to accept credit card payments?

Since you are not in the US - consider Paysystems. James Acker, (T-Free) 866.699.9021 ext. 2109 - a bank is not as lax as some CC processors. Using a CC processor is usually easier to be accepted for a merchant account. Talk to him re: third party processing and having your own merchant account.
