Default Overseas transactions

I'm just curious how other people are handling the issues with overseas customers and the much higher potential of fraud. We are US based and currently only selling to the US. Anyone have a good solution without the risk of losing tons of money to fraud? PM me if you don't want to give too many details in a public forum, and I'd be concerned if I got more than a few links publicly.

With so much potential overseas, it's hard to ignore. But we've lost considerable amounts of money on fraudulent orders in the past, so I'm looking for some solid advice before we start opening up to any other markets again.

Thanks,
Brian

Verisign is one of the better gateways to use for fraud protection.

You can also consider using something like Fraud Guardian, VariLogix, or Fraud Gate

The best defense though, go with your gut feeling - if it does not feel right - do some investigation. Call the customer. Maybe even fax over a credit card authorization.

Verisign and cybersource do a good job for fraud protection. you may also have to deal with extra tax issues (VAT) for international transaction.

Overseas transaction is indeed existing the much higher potential of fraud.I'm a business man of China.Five years ago,I faced the same problems as you
today, and I don't believe the overseas customers, but beyond my imagination,I haven't been deceived by the overseas customer.Maybe I was very young five years
ago,full of adventure spirit.Maybe I'm very lucky ,
never meeting a cheat. But the most important thing is
whether what country of citizen you are, faith is the
basis of success.i wish you the best of luck and prosperity with all your business endeavors in the future!
