Default Help with site hosting

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me of a good, UK based Website hosting company that support ASP, and that supply a MySQL database. It would also be good if they had all the usual web interface bells and whistles, like statistics, webFTP and so on. I am currently using another company but they only support PHP, and I cannot connect directly to the database they supply from my local machine.

PS: I don't really want to spend any more than about £8.00 a month.

Any help would be gratly appreciated.

Many thanks

David

Default UK budget hosting with MySQL

You could try 1and1.co.uk
They have a business package that works out at £8.99 month. For that you get up to 500 POP 3 email addresses, 1 MySQL database, Free CGI scripts, 2GB webspace, daily backup, virus scan, etc.

More details

Hope that helps!

Paul

PS. I moved your post from Site Design into eCommerce Talk. Unfortunately, we don't have a dedicated hosting forum, this is about the best resting place for hosting queries!

Default Thanks

Thanks for the response. I had a look over their site but they don't seem to support ASP, only Perl and PHP is mentioned.

Thanks

David

Default

They split their hosting services between "Hosting" and "MSHosting". Take a look here at the overview for MSHosting.

Within a Microsoft Windows environment, you're unlikey to find a host that will also provide a MySQL database. Generally speaking, MS hosting will go "hand in hand" with ASP, MS Access databases or SQL Server for more robust solutions.
