Default Shopping Cart - Excel List Import

I work at a plant nursery where the inventory changes monthly and we have a large variety of plants. All of this is kept track of through Excel and new availability lists are generated monthly.

I setup osCommerce and had a look at the MySQL to see if I could bulk import/export but noticed the lack of flexability with the database and abundance of tables. It would work better for me importing and exporting product lists if these tables were consolodated.

I need a shopping cart solution that is database driven, flexible enough to allow multiple searchable attributes for each product and able to integrate with UPS and Verisign Payflow Pro...

Does this sound like a custom job or is there a cart out there that could help me do this? Custom job + cart?

Thanks,

Rich

Default Importing Excel to OSCommerce

We use OSCommerce and find it is extremely adaptive if you care to spend the time. The secret is in checking out the contribution section on the website. If you need something, then more than likely someone else does too. Usually I can find a contribution for what I want.

For example, importing of Excel spreadsheets is done through the Easy Populate contribution. This contribution allows you to down load your product data base change it or add to it and then upload it. Some changes to the program may have to be made to accommodate any special fields, but instructions comes with this particular contribution.

Also, the search engine used for the shopping cart is one of the best I've seen. You can type in just about any portion of a product name, model#, price, etc. and find the product.

OSCommerce also has a great forum section with thousands of people participating every day.

Please take a look at www.storefront.net. It integrates with UPS and Verisign plus more and is an affordable, robust, out-of-the box solution.

Default Cube Cart

I've been watching and now using CubeCart for some time. It is very flexible and reasonably simple to install. It seems to attract a lot of OSCommerce refugees. Mine is here if you'd care to take a look.

Default Has anyone had experience with Vitual Cart or Americart?

I have a client considering VirtualCart.com or Americart.com as their shopping cart. Anyone have any experience with these?
