Default Ecommerce and Accounting Solutions?

I'm needing to streamline my business. I currently hand write the ledgers, copy and paste to print customer receipts, and my merchant account is separate from all this.

I'm looking at accounting/merchant solutions that offer it all such as:

Quick Books
MYOB
Peachtree

Question is - do you have any recommendations on these or others? I need an account that will keep inventory, keep the books, print customer receipts AND charge and capture customer credit cards.

Thanks!

Hello!
I would recommend choosing a storefront solution that is compatible with one of the programs you listed. Our software is fully compatible with QuickBooks and might be a nice solution, but if you tell me more about what you are looking for on the ecommerce side, perhaps i can help further.
Thanks
Steph

Stephanie is right (well about needing more information). Quickbooks - well you can actually get a merchant account thru them. Are you selling online or in your business? If it is in your business, Quickbooks might be your easiest way to go. If it is your business, do you have internet access there?

I would recommend a company that you have your own database that you can download at anytime. And your own shoping cart. That way, if the company ever goes under or tells you that they want $700 to "upgrade" your account, you can leave. It will be better for you in the long run. It might cost a few extra dollars, but less heartache later.

Actinic Business is a complete ecommerce solution that's compatible with QuickBooks, and it's of the type that Corey recommends. You build the store on your PC, then you can upload it to most any commercial webspace. So you're not dependant on anyone. If you have problems with your host, you can easily move your site to a different one.

We use Peachtree, but in hindsight wish that we had gone with Quickbooks. Peachtree has been better about upgrading their product the last couple of years, but they just can't match the development resources at Intuit.

The biggest reason though is because of 3rd party integration. Many more products work with Quickbooks than Peachtree.

Default NetSuite?

We were considering switching from a pretty high-end system to NetSuite here a while back. Not only do you get an integrated website / accounting system, but it's all web based so you can access it from home as well as the office. They have a nice CRM module as well that integrates.

But, since we already have 6 figures into our accounting system a few times over, we haven't made the switch. Someday...
