Default Looking: Multiple Sites on One Host

I'm looking for a hosting recommendation. I specifically need a hosting package that can accomodate more than one website -- preferably 3 to 5.

Oh, and budget is a concern too.

My knowledge level is fair. I'm more of a designer / and self-SEO who's done well in that aspect. As for the technical side of hosting, I'm a bit behind. I'm ready to move on from using free space that comes with my ISP account (AT&T) and on to my first hosting company. But I have several websites (they let you do that), and just used domain 'forwarding' to the free space. It doesn't actually host the domain, so the URL is technically different. I think it's hurting me with PR and indexing in search engines. Also, I've been lacking CGI and need that too.

I'm not sure technically what to look for (terminology), but from what I've gathered, most hosting plans don't let you have multiple websites. Right?

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks,
Jawn

What you are looking for is a reseller hosting account. There are different kinds, but many allow you to host unlimited domains.

They're who I use as a host, although I passed the "reseller" level and went to dedicated server in December. I've been with them over 2 years now and they're just a decent company to deal with. Great, great organization.
