Shipping costs

I have a client who primarily ships around the country and beyond, offering overnight, or slow boat... What is the best program to use for calculating weight, distance to zip code, and the variety of shipping delivery time options? It especially needs to be calculated in the shopping cart upon checkout.

i have a client who charges different prices for different items - not related to weight or UPS or USPS. it is his way of making some money as he offers the product at cost price, so he makes his money on shipping and handling. i used VP-ASP software- www.vpasp.com which is a shopping cart with all the things u can wish for-
