Default help with credit card info..

Hi,
I currently have a site that accepts paypal payments. I have access to a secure server (https). I was wanting to set up a way to collect credit card info on the secure page and then somehow receive it securely. Ive heard that email is not secure..How could i get the data from the secure page to me? Thanks!

Email is definitely not secure. Most companies that do this usually use a database where the information from the form where the users fills it out is actually on the website.

I would get a script or software to do it. There are plenty of them out there, even ones that will do the verifying for you. It's easier to install a script than to create one from scratch.

I'm assuming that you already have a merchant account?

One more thing---if you're actually selling stuff on your site (more than one item), then you'll want to install a shopping cart on your site rather than just a credit card verification script.

I recommend using OScommerce, but there are several others out there that are good.

For oscommerce needs, I recommend http://oscommerce.snappyserver.com/ - we have used them in the past for some clients & been extremely happy with their services.
