Default How to create 'shopping mall'?

Hi
I am new here and would like to seek expert advice here.

I have an idea to create a shopping mall where clients can setup 'eretail shop'. We rent them a standard space and they design & setup their product highlight within standard frames. They key in also how much they want to charge. This is to be self-generating.

Purchase payment which will be accepted are credit cards etc and be processed by the shopping mall which pay them a balance minus commission.

I like to have the structure of this mall like this movie website I saw : http://www.gv.com.sg/Booking/comingsoon.htm

I am familiar with html but this would require frequent update. I am thinking of a self-generated diy version. Possible with php? How about security?

Anyone here can advise me which tools to use ?

Best Rgds

Hi Kevin,

Welcome to WebProWorld! Afraid I can't answer all of your questions, but what I have done is move your post into a more suitable forum (eCommerce Talk) where you'll hopefully get lots of helpful replies from our members! :o)

Good luck!

Paul

Try www.storesense.com . Im not affiliated with them, but they have an awsome product, and I think it will fit your needs.

Are you looking for an ASP solution? Do the members have their own merchant account or will they be using one merchant account?

Thanks Paul for placing my message in the right section.

TO Corey Bryant's question, I am thinking of a self automated shopping mall where each 'tenant' comes in and rent a store space. They will be able to have unique sign-in, upload image or documents, features writeup, selling price etc. Payment to them will be centrally collected with commission taken by mall and balance to the tenants.

I have this business plan in mind - just not good in web design to create this and hoping some of you may guide me.

Forgot to add.

ASP, Java or PHP - whichever doesnt matter so long as it works and at reasonable reliability & costs.

Hm as far as whatever programming language is better - that is a debateable question that I won't try to even touch on.

There is this site here: http://www.spidersales.com/purchase.asp - I am not too sure of your budget at this point, but they have one cart that might fit your needs. I also sent you a PM as well.
