Hi have recently bought the domain pure-design 'dot' fr from eurodns and am trying to change the nameservers so they point at my website on my fasthosts based server.
When I change them I get the error message: Dear Ben Collison, Important information regarding your domain: pure-design 'dot' fr The nameservers you declared are more than likely misconfigured: ns2 'dot' livedns 'dot' co 'dot' uk, 213.171.193.250 ns3 'dot' livedns 'dot' co 'dot' uk, 213.171.192.254 ns1 'dot' livedns 'dot' co 'dot' uk, 213.171.192.250 The following error(s) occured: Error : Nameserver ns2 'dot' livedns 'dot' co 'dot' uk cannot be queried for SOA Error : Nameserver ns3 'dot' livedns 'dot' co 'dot' uk cannot be queried for SOA Error : Nameserver ns1 'dot' livedns 'dot' co 'dot' uk cannot be queried for SOA Once you have corrected the problem on your DNS servers, you can then log into your eurodns 'dot' livedns 'dot' co 'dot' ukcom account and re-enter the information of your DNS servers. Can anyone help as both parties are blaming each other.... Thanks Ben |

ns1, ns2 and ns3.livedns.co.uk don't appear to be configured for the domain name pure-design.fr
I assume that eurodns is complaining as it's checking the nameservers know about the domain and they don't. I'd get the domain setup on those nameservers then see if you can change the nameservers for the domain name and go from there. |

This is the latest message I got:
Unfortunately, please be advised that it's impossible to apply your NS because they are misconfigured (restricted by the Registry). The zone check revealed the following error: Test results ---- fatal ---- f: Server doesn't listen / answer on port 53 for TCP protocol The DNS assumes that messages will be transmitted as datagrams or in a byte stream carried by a virtual circuit. While virtual circuits can be used for any DNS activity, datagrams are preferred for queries due to their lower overhead and better performance. Final status FAILURE |

Not sure where you got that last message from but I'm guessing eurodns.
Assuming you have created an account for your domain within your hosting then you need to go back to your host and have them fix your account and/or provide you with the correct nameserver information. Either way your first port of call is asking your host to setup hosting for that domain and provide you with the correct nameservers to use. Then you can login to the eurodns control panel and try updating the nameservers again. I'm assuming once the host is right it will all just work as I've not dealt with eurodns myself. |
