Hi - little dilemma here.
Quite a few years back I bought the domain name
http://www.animalfun.co.uk/ for my 11 year old daughter, who created a really sweet site about animals - written by a kid for other kids. (I know I know, there's lots wrong with it, but hey, its a kids site with spelling mistakes, the lot!). Understandably and due to its "interesting" name, the site has generated thousands of hits! (I'm sure there were quite a few disappointed people who quickly hit the back key when they realised it wasn't delivering quite what they had hoped!)
Anyhow, now she's 16 and has lost interest in the site. I am continuing keeping the domain going becuase I am concerned about it getting into the wrong hands. Looking at the stats, I can see it linked to from all over the web ~ from kids directories, schools, animal enthusiast sites.....
I would hate to release it back on the market or put it up for sale and find some unsavoury content had replaced what's currently there. After all, we are supposed to protect children from this sort of thing.
The only other thing I can think of is that I continue to pay for the domain, but leave the pages just as they are or just remove the content totally - but I can see it taking years to scroll off the web.
Am I left holding the "baby dinosaur"??
