Default Can I transfer a Domain Name, and not pay until its due?

Does anyone know of a registrar who I can transfer about 10 domain names, but not pay until the renewal is due?

The ones that I have looked at, ask for renewal fee at transfer time, but some domains are not due for ages, up to 18 months. The client may have gone bust by then ! <G>

Default

It's pretty standard to pay for an extra year when doing a transfer between registrars.
Who are you with now and where do you want to go?

Default Who I am with...

Currently with EV1 servers dot net, and I cannot renew without asking them for a form, taking it down the village, faxing it off half way round the world, and waiting. It also took 12 emails last time. Their web site still will not accept my credit cards postal address, and this is "the best they can do".

I haven't found anyone asking for an extra year! That seems like a crazy way to find new business! The other one that I am with, asks for 1 renewal for each domain transferred, then 'starts' it from when the last one ends, so that unused time with the previous registrar is not wasted.

As things are, I am going to have to transfer one domain at a time, just before they are due. But it isn't good sales technique on their part, they should be taking all domains as soon as they can, to ensure future business
