Default Expired domain - not available?

We were looking into purchasing new domains and a couple of the domains we want are expired, but still not available.

So the question is how long do we have to wait for an expired domain to become available? Expired since Jan 19th.

Thank you

Anywhere up to 60 days really, it depends entirely on the registrar.

Anywhere from 45 days to a year, depending upon the registrar. It may be possible to reserve the domain for when it comes available, but that costs more, and I don't think it comes with any kind of guarantee that someone else didn't reserve it first.

The quick way to get them would be to track down the previous owner(s) and have them renew the domains and sell them to you - what ever that might cost.

Default Domain Name Auction

Hello,
Some expired domains are put into auctions for a long period. This is because the registrar company waits for a week after each bid is done, so if there are 50 people bidding for the same expired domain name and the average separating time between each bidder is 3 days then this will take 150 days.
regards

Maybe they should change the name "expired" to "in limbo"

hehe... if it's expired. Should be up for grabs. But in this world of greed and power. It's par for it to be in an auction.

Go Figure!
