Default Domain Name - Transfer of Ownership

Hi.

I recently had a domain name purchased on my behalf. In fact, I did not pay for it - I swapped it for 6 Gmail accounts. The domain is pointing to my DNS servers, but, if I wanted to transfer ownership (to myself), for say 10$ how would I go about doing so?

Many sites offer transfer of ownership, but demand 10% commission, which is fine in itself. However, this fee usually consists of a 50$ minimum - a fee that I am not prepared to pay.

The domain in question was registered using GoDaddy.

Edit: After substantial research at GoDaddy, a solution has been found. Although, it would perhaps be helpful for other users, who do not use GoDaddy - to offer a solution..
