How far does long domain names help in search engine ranking?
Here's something I found if you search for internet marketing on google... here are the results Rank 1: http://www.clickz.com/ Page Rank: 9 Backlinks: 128,000 linking to http://www.clickz.com Rank 2: http://www.marketingtips.com/ Page Rank: 7 Backlinks: about 479 linking to http://www.marketingtips.com Now that's quite a big difference. Now here's the deal: www.marketingtips.com owns internetmarketing.com which forwards to www.marketingtips.com. Which means that the keywords in the domain & also the domains which forward to you have an effect on the ranking of your page. If this is true then buying keyword rich domains & using them or having them forward to your main site will be a definite advantage. Comments? |
