Default are .info domains any good?

today and yesterday i tried some domain names to see if they were still available.. and to my surprise some of them were available with .org or .info domains..

are these any good for doing business (perheps affiliate programs on them) .. cause especially the .info domains seem to be free a lot..

Default .info and.org

In the end it all depends on what you want to do.

For building website and advertising it online without worrying about branding and people remembering the domain, then .info would be fine.

If you are looking for offline advertising the .info would not be a good choice due to the fact that for the general public it is not that common therefor it wouldn't be that easy to remember.

When it comes to .org, they are "suppose" to be for non for profit orgnazations, but some companies ignore that.

To sum up my ramblings.... For putting affiliates on it and just gaining online traffic, .info would be fine.

Default .info

I only have one .info
www.BamMargera.info and it's getting better clicks
than some of my .com names :))

I think .info names are on the up value wise (if you are interested in selling on). There are also more and more high profile companies starting to market sites with a .info extension. I own a few sweet ones as well so I for one hope it will pick up !

Default .info's anygood?

Yes they are very good. Example will be best. www.universityavenue.info vs www.universityavenue.com www.AMERICANBLUECHIPS.COM vs www.AMERICANBLUECHIPS.INFO or this one too; www.EXOSKELETON.COM verses www.EXOSKELETON.INFO www.HogsforDogs.info or www.HogsforDogs.com www.JOPLINMO.COM vs www.JOPLINMO.INFO www.LITTLESTURGIS.INFO vs www.LITTLESTURGIS.COM or this last one. www.TREASUREHUNTERS.INFO verses www.TREASUREHUNTERS.COM now after looking at those and comparing, what do you think about it now? I can think of a lot more comparisons.

Yes .info values are on the rise and there have been some decent .us sales lately too. The key is still finding short one word or descriptive 2 word names.

Here, people accept the .info domains, but hte .biz are looked at in a funny way. It sounds like the get-rich-quick sort of name. I will be getting a .us some time soon.
