i was surprised to find these unregistered
I was looking at some a soccer teams website when I decided to go look see if any variations were available just a couple of days ago. here are a couple i found:
nashvillepredators.com - official site
nashvillepredators.net - mine
lagalaxy.com - official site
lagalaxy.net - mine
metrostars.com - official site of NY Metro Stars
nymetrostars.com - mine
I also got a couple european teams .us domains, but these three are the ones I was really surprised that I was able to snatch! some decent buys here maybe???

Cash in?
How are you going to capitalize? Redirect to your main site?
Or get a lawyer, throw up some porn, shoot them an email, and get ready to do some old fashioned "negotiating"?

You could always create an info/fan page with lots quality content about the team to rank well with the search engines.. .. then run some banner ad programs.. AdSense, doubleClick, etc.. and make money from the traffic..
With the porn idea, their lawyers might not play nice ..Goodwill, copyright issues, brand equity..etc.. and a trip to Tennessee to appear in court can ruin your whole day.

I also dont thinnk the porn thing is a good idea. It will definately get someone's attention, but I'd be carefull on that one.
Definately a great find. Especially since you got a few at once. Good Luck with them.++

Lot of effort, Eh !
Hello
You have put in lot of effort to do this job, take care, the counter part may try to sue you, but legally i think it is OK, unless and untill you do not do any mischief with their site, it would be adviceable not to do anything what the other ID owners are up to. But still the mountain in steep ahead.

fan sites
I would have to agree with SteveO. If you ran a fan site with information about the teams, with message boards. You can put affiliate programs and make money.
Since the teams' names are copyrighted, you might be able to get away with the above idea, but anything else would land you in court.
