Default Prosearching.com hi jack

A really nasty set of programs called people on page, prosearching.com, and search the web popped up on my computer. They are from the same source. I have not down loaded any programs or viewed any email attachments. This the second time I have had this problem. I wish I could figure out how to block it or find out where it came from. It hi jacks you browser, puts a search bar on you page, adds 7 icons to your desk top, and 15 categories to your favorites menu with 15 subcategories in each file. They are primarily sex and gambling sites. I think I have cleared them from my computer using a program called spy hunter. They were attached to 208 different locations. However it blocked my ability to use the internet option on the IE tool bar. I guess this was to keep me from deleting them from my browser page options. I have not been able to restore this function. The error message I get says this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions placed on this computer. Contact your administrator. I can not find out how this was restricted to restore the function. I have spy bot and spyware blaster installed. They are suppose to block these types of programs but did not. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
