Hi there all.
I am new here and thought I would give this a try. I am going to college at the age of 36 and Yes I love learning. I have a Networking class that I am taking at this time. My Question is this. My team and I have to design a network for a company this company has a total of 90. including the boss. Now what I am needing to do is have printer acess to 2 floor the 1st leavel and the 2nd level. both are in the shape of an L. One room is only for the Payroll Dept. How many Printers should I get. and How can I make sure no one but the ones working in the pay roll dept has no acess to that printer? thanks for listening. and if anyone knows anything about wireless or links that would be helpful as well. The OS that is running will be windows 2000 and as for the payroll dept. the 8 people that will be working there will be the only ones allowed acess.
Is there any good printers of choice? thanks Tammy |

I would set up the 8 users into their own usergroup (e.g. payroll) under the administration tools in w2k. Printer would depend on if you require colour or just black and white together with how much use or work it will be doing...
Colour: light workload = injet heavy workload = quality injet or colour laser ($$$$) B&W light workload = inject heavy workload = b&w laser (cheap as chips) Make sure the printer is 10/100 LAN network capable, this way it easy to set restriction, time access and priorities to the printer. Even auto shutdown can be programmed with some printers... Printer workload and colour prefrence = ???? |
