I displays most the text OK on the page But some characters apppear missing out.

as stated this inculdes in some of the URL, (not all), so links fail.

Some tags get corrupeted and do not display correctly as well.

On a different host the web pages are OK, so I hoping to move hosts soon.

Question Re: Missing characters on Host

With the example, (it happens to other text as well), I've just tried adding and extra 'po'

an extra 'po'

it strips out one' po' on the host and display the URL as I want

The host state the have no problems with other websites.... but they are moving to servers soon and I hope this will fix this issue.

It's weird problem, that I wondered if anyone else knows the anwswer to it.

  1. I do not see your problem:
    - http://www.acomputerpoportal.com/ins...ite/index.html Broken link.
    - Instant Video Suite. Create Flash and DVD Presentations. Streaming video and screen capture software.

Ok, but keyboard disabled. Why test if keycode == ? Don't want links?
  2. Here XML validation problem - SitePoint Forums is a related problem, that I am usure of was answered correctly.
P.S: Do you still useTextLinkBrokers.com? Have you had any success with them?

The issue is other missing characters as well... argh!!! I'm not going through tons of my webpage’s looking for there errors, especially when the don't exists locally or for that matter even when viewing the file on the host via FTP., and then the host is changing servers soon anyway.

I think it could be an Apache Language setting on the host side that is certain groups of characters are shown, or not shown.

If this fixes the issue for me, great but it would still be of interest to know what’s causing this?

NOTE: Google is suppost to be stopping/cutting sites that use Paid Links if this is for Organic Page Rank

I doubt that. If that is the answer, it would be an interesting conclusion to know how.

You did not answer the question why you test for input from the keyboard.

I have also noted that your pages are (was?) very unstable. That is the reason I have cut some central links to your great portal.

I guess because on another hosts the same code/pages work OK. The working host is only used for testing: this all I can use this host for at this time, please don't ask why!!!

I have also noted that your pages are (was?) very unstable. Yes I've had nothing but problems with Host/s, (down time, etc), over about 6 Months to a year... This is including Brute-Force Hacking than Hacked most my sites and My Web Host Manager.

My main host say thy have had a lot of downtime so are moving servers on about the 12-15 Jan.

You are not alone. Two of my hosters deliver stable pages. The third not, but it is cheapest and they improve. I will not use them on secure pages https.

Got an idea:
  1. Have you tried to delete all code on the server and reinstall it?
  2. The same with the browser you use?

??????????

A row of ????? is what I see, sometimes, if I delete from host then re-upload.

A refesh, (nothing changed on pages), displays the page, some pages have missing characters. The host is no help... dirt cheap hosting.

Even tags get corrupted when displayed, text file looks OK stored on host, (FTP view) so it must be the way the host is actually displaying the HTML files, it applys to PHP etc....

Tags not all; displaying ; font size="2" ... choping off start of the <font size="2"...

So the viewer sees :-

font size="2"... on the page.

Yes, I have deleted two hosters. Mainly time costs, but I learned a lot

And I created digitalstart dot net (with a lot of in my own opinion relevant Amazon ad) because of it.

My new host say it is using cURL because of security

I swear, I looked thought about this for about twenty minutes trying to find an alternative before I actually tested it to replicate the problem. I think I found part of the problem. All the areas that should have "<?php" or "?>" instead have "<?php" and "?>" which your processor can not interpret.

However, because this code is not passing through the PHP parser at all, the MIME type from the server is incorrect, which causes problems with Firefox. I would recommend rechecking the PHP script, and then have your host check the configuration settings. I have seen some hosts, for example, lock the AddType method to prevent users from mapping .html files to the PHP processor. This does not seem to be the case, however, as the MIME type I get from the server is in fact application/x-httpd-php. However, I don't think that is the type that the PHP processor is mapped to on the server. It is possible that some other type has been assigned to the PHP handler.

If all else fails, you could try the following code:
AddHandler php5-script .html

The "<?php is just used to display the code that is used which is <?php

I've moved to a new host which does not lose characters, so it must be the old host causing the missing characters.

This post is now moving here becuase now I have a cURL issue

Thanks
