Which digital (video) camera do you recommend?

This is not my speciality. I have planned to buy a digital camera and / or a digital video camera with sound recording. Do you have any recommendations?

Questions:

1. Which one do you think gives most per / dollar spent? How good is the resolution and what are the requirements?
2. Can I buy it abroad (eBay / Amazon) or are there country specific formats?
3. Some Tv channels are HD ready and some provide full HD functionality? What is the difference?
4. How difficult is it to deliver real time quality pictures to world via the internet? Do you need to be a Tv company or can you use a wireless communication protocol (WAP)?
5. Blue Ray etc. What are all these different competing formats about?
6. Editing viedo movies. Does Adobe have the best product?

An answer to any of these questions are welcome.

No reply yet. I bought a standard Sony digital video camera with 60 Gb disk. It is not a professional camera but good enough for me at present.

The picture and sound quality is better than for a lot of video's I see on the internet.

One of the best I know of from Sony is the HDR-SR8E with 100 GB harddisk.

Electronics, televisions, digital cameras, etc. I just buy at local stores that I can get to. The stuff seems to break quite often. Digital cameras are tough to recommend. I have seen some really high end stuff, but at the end of the day really HOW GOOD DOES THE PICTURE NEED TO BE? I forget the megapixels at the time, but I saw the 'difference' between a decent camera with high megapixels and the highend one with MASSIVE megapixels and you know what? I couldn't see the difference, the cheaper camera had resolution sufficient to fool my eye that it was real.

And it is always expensive to be in the front. I reformatted the harddisks of my 5 1/2 year combuter, stripped off unnecessary software, reinstalled necessary software and now it is like new.
