Default Hijakced Domain

My website has been the victim of a domain hijacking last week. Everything looked normal the night before on the website, in which I update regularly. Then the next day around 10:00pm I open up my browser to find this http://www.mandlers.com/images/hijacked-mandlers.jpg

Obvisouly i got the domain back after hours on the phone with godaddy.com, our domain name registrar.
If anyone has any ideas on how I can track the person who i hijacked my domain name please let me know. Or if you had some expreince with this and have any ideas on how to approach this problem so it won't happen again please let me know.

We are also offering free sausages on our website at wwww.mandlers.com for anyone who can direct us to the person who did this deed.

Thanks

The domain name registrar is the one responsible for the domain name. It was their servers that pointed that domain to the improper place.

Just to let you know, i've talked it over with several people and they tell me is isn't so uncommon.

Default ?!?

But...With what purpose? To 'steal' some visitors for a moment?

I hate this crap, get a life! Isn't it far more satisfying to get visitors and exposure because you just have rockin' content or a rockin' idea or so..?!

People doing this could better spend their time doing some good...

Surely it must've been go-daddy themselves or an employee of theirs that did it. I can't understand how an outsider could do it.
If someone at go-daddy does it regularly they could get a lot of traffic worth a lot of money going to their own sites. Or sites that they sell traffic to.
