Default PayFlowPro API on 64-Bit Linux

I've been trying for some time now to get the PayFlowPro API to make on a 64 bit Linux install.

Does anyone have experience in that area? It always fails with a note about "skipping incompatible libpfpro.so" for me.

I could always move to their XMLPay, but in trying to move to the new servers I'd like to get up and running with the API first, then re-write things afterwards.

Brian.

Default

If you have the source to the libpfpro.so library then I'd make clean and run configure to optimize it for 64bit. If its a library only provided by payflowpro as a closed source lib then your out of luck unless they have a version compatible with 64bit os's.

Usually incompatible libraries are as a result of them being compiled with a different gcc/libtools than the kernel.

If you can, make clean, configure, and make the library again then make the api on the same machine.

Default Ok...

Ok... I think I got somewhere, I'm just not sure where. I have some of the install working, such as the binary and the tests that go with it. I still can't use the install script or make the Makefile, but I've narrowed that down to this error:
Quote:
Can't locate auto/PFProAPI/pfproCleanu.al in @INC
Not really a help, since a google search only shows a few results that mean nothing to me since I'm not using the same software they're talking about. Yahoo wasn't much better, Ask looked the same as Yahoo, and MSN had the worst results.

Anyway... I don't know if using the XML will be an option if I can't get something installed. This is frustrating. I don't know if it has to do with /usr/lib64/perl5 being the default instead of /usr/lib/perl5 or what, but it just isn't working at this point.

I did take a look at some of the source code and found that it's calling pfproCleanup() in the line that's failing. If I could just figure out what that's contained in, I think I'd be good to go. But it doesn't seem to exist anywhere.

Default Well..

Well... Verisign apparently is moving away from the API model with the expanding of OS types / configurations and has a HTTPS service to send XML transactions through. That should be a whole lot easier to develop against. For now, I got an early copy of their documentation. It needs some work yet, but this should make things work a whole lot easier.
