Default Thunderbird 1.0

Mozilla released Thunderbird 1.0. I was using 0.8 and upgraded today. So far I haven't found any of the new features to be anything I'll likely be using, but I think some people will find them handy. But certainly, everything I've come to love about Thunderbird is still there.

One thing I saw they added was easier migration from Outlook and Outlook express. That was one thing that I found to be harder than it needed to be when I switched to Thunderbird from OE around version 0.6 on my Windows machine.

WebProNews has a small article about the rss reader. I tried it, it's OK, but one of the feeds I read is from a private forum and Thunderbird tries to make me log in before I can read the message. Then when I log in it launches FireFox. I'll be sticking with the FireFox rss extension.

I've only played with 1.0 on Linux so far, but when I get home I'll give it a spin on Windows.

Anybody waiting for 1.0 to be released before making the switch is out of excuses.

Anyone else download 1.0 yet? Any thoughts?

Default Thunderbird for Windows

I downloaded the program 2 days ago, and I've been very happy so far. It seems to be quite functional and has great features. I'm still trying to figure it all out, but, as Firefox has been a great find, I'm sure I'll soon replace outlook with Thunderbird for good!

Default Love it.

We've been using IMAP for our CSR's so they can all use the same mailbox, and I must say that Thunderbird handles IMAP a ton better than Outlook / OE. The fact that it can save sent mail on the server and truly has a trash folder for deleting make it worth the switch for us.

Thank you Mozilla!
