Default Website Monitoring Software ?

I am in the market for some website monitoring software. I would appreciate any suggestions. I listed a few features I need any extra would be a plus!

1) Monitors not only site being down but speed, (We have had issues where a process will hose up and cause the site to slow down to near unusability)

2) A page, email, or an audible alarm

Aything else is a plus! Any ideas would be great!

The best network monitoring solution is, in my opinion, WhatsUp by IPSwitch http://www.ipswitch.com/products/wha...onitoring.html. But this is a complicated piece of software and if you are in a quest for a simple website monitoring solution, this is too much.[/b]

I use servers alive which is a much smaller and much much cheaper version of MOM and it's easy to setup

It's free for 10 servers / connections so maybe perfect for monitoring services on 1 web box

We've been using Dot-com Monitor (http://www.dotcom-monitor.com/) for the past few months. It seems to work great and I believe it meets all the requirements you mention.

You give it up to three people's phone numbers (as well as email addresses), and if your site is down for more than 15 minutes (or a time interval you set), it gives them a call. They monitor from about 5 locations worldwide. It can also monitor payment processing as well as regular pages. It also gives you the response time it took to load the pages, each time it checks the pages (in our case, every 10 minutes).

Hope this helps.

Try this one out:

http://www.ServWatch.com

It's very affordable and easy to use. Not to mention, since it is asp based - you can customize it to your needs.

Also has a bandwidth monitor in it.

There are some other server monitors at:
