You might have installed something which has started the debugging process of java script, and it gets annoying, as it picks up every little error.

Check Tools, Internet Options, click the "advanced" tab and check "Disable Script Debugging" is checked.

Corrupt IE6? Mild chance

Corrupt JVM? Ha? - The console provides error messages, you most probably have it disabled, it doesn't pop up error messages, nor can it even guess at what line it occured on as java is compiled into an intermediate language. There is some serious misunderstandings as to what Java is, what it is not, and what the Virtual Machine does, and does not.

Default JVM

I say it's because JVM. Packages like MS Visual Studio upgrades your JVM at setup and that can be a reason for such error. My advice downgrade or uninstall.
