Default excell export

I have a delimited voter file with over 500,000 rows
and 80 colunms, does any one know how to inport in to excell . It opens fine in Access
I have tried the all the tricks list by Microsoft, but to no avail.
I have Office Xp pro
with the newest Excell and access, It stops loading
at 256,000 rows. Anybody know any tricks, I can not
break this file down to smaller packets because of
its links to the total data.

Default Excel

I think that you might be pushing the envelope as far as your system goes. The following is from Excel 2003 Help:

Worksheet and workbook specifications

Feature Maximum limit:
Open workbooks: Limited by available memory and system resources
Worksheet size: 65,536 rows by 256 columns
Column width: 255 characters
Length of cell contents: (text) 32,767 characters. Only 1,024 display in a cell; all 32,767 display in the formula bar.
Sheets in a workbook: Limited by available memory (default is 3 sheets)
Names in a workbook Limited by available memory
Windows in a workbook Limited by system resources
Linked sheets Limited by available memory
Reports Limited by available memory Custom toolbars in a workbook Limited by available memory
Custom toolbar buttons Limited by available memory

As you can see, excel files can get very big. You probably need to look at your system resources.

May I ask WHY Excel?

For that volume of data, I would suggest a database system as opposed to a spreadsheet.

What is it that you hope to do with this data?
