Default How to Kill MySQL Sleep ?

Hi

Using SHOW FULL PROCESSLIST to see that there are many open connection that have the Command: Sleep. How do I kill those SLEEP?

I have read somewhere saying that I can reduce the wait_timeout to 60 as the default is 4800, but I can't seem to find it anywhere in the Server for this setting. I have checked the my.cnf as well as the php.ini but none has mentioned it. Where is it located?

Hope someone can advice.

Thanks!

Finally I found that all I need to do is simply add the timeout command in my.cnf and it works.

hey man i have the same problem like this

i've a problem with sleep processes in my mysql database. Some longe queries cause sleeping processes if the user break up before result is on the screen. There isnt yet a posibility to speed up the queries so the only way to avoid a breakdown of the system because of to many sleeping ones is to kill them after the slept for 2 min. Till now the run for 943 sek which is way to long.

I adjusted the sleep time to be 60 secs. It resolves my issue thereafter.

Glad that you too have the solution. I was wondering for a long time when this happens. Now I will not bother about it as it is already solved.
