WANTED: MS Access Consultant

The company I work for needs to create an inventory management system in Access (because they use Microsoft Office). We do not have to stick with Access if there is an inexpensive way to create another type of database (we have MySQL servers availble).

I have limited experience in Access and can not make it user friendly enough to be manageable by the whole team. We need someone who can program forms and also make sure the relationships do not create any duplicates/annomolies.

We are located in Vista California (San Diego County) and would like to hire a consultant to help us get the job done.

Also, we will soon have an online store (being slowly created by another company) which we would like to be able to export "availability" lists to from our inventory. The store is in MySQL.

This is not an ER/ERR diagram, it is simply a logic chart. It is what we would like the database to be able to do.

Since I'm sure others will have this question, does the consultant necessarily have to be located in the 619 (that is the San Diego area code, right?)

It is just nice to be able to meet and discuss what we want...but since this is the age of information and communication I am sure telephone and e-mail will be fine.

In other words...No, you do not have to be located in San Diego if you want to help us.

If this is going to be stored in-house. You could probably get away with doing it in mySQL and using a web front end interface. You could possibly use php or asp if you are running a window's server. Then you could open it up to vendors and the like as well.

There are probably 100's of tools already on the market to fulfill your needs at probably half the cost of getting developed from scratch. Why try to re-invent the wheel?

No formal budget yet...

We are a small business (plant nursery) but we like to be cutting edge in order to beat out our competition. We have no idea how much the starting costs of a project like this would be.

If anyone can give us a quote, it would be much appreciated.

I am surprised that I haven't received one e-mail from an interested party yet! If no one here wants to do it can you at least point me to a company who does?

I am an access consultant and am interested in doing projects. Rick, I have emailed you some information along with a quote. Looks to me without seeing tables and report specs, like this is a one week project. I am posting reply for the group so that people reading this sting of posts can feel free to contact me if they would like. I can send samples and references.
