Default Question about 1and1.biz as a host ?

Pardon me if I sound naive. But, unfortunately I am fairly new at this.

My site is about a year old now and I am self taught or learn through this forum. But, the site is growing fast and I keep running out of web space, for which I have to buy more.

I found a provider called 1and1.biz that appears to provide everything I have now plus way more space, two additional web names, lots more email accounts, plus lots of other extras. It just sounds too good to be true.

Does anyone have any experience with this company?

Also, are things to be aware of when switching hosts?

Any information you can provide would be very helpful.

Thank you so much,

Kathy Weiser

Well, they are a UK company trying to break into the American market. They've been on a tear offering all kinds of crazy deals.

A large surge in clients, means their support level cannot keep up (so, I've heard)

Well, you'll want to compare the server specs of the new company to your existing one, as well as other extras, such as control panels.
If you are running a basic html site, it should be pretty smooth.

Before I added hosting to my services, I set up a domain & moved a forum site to 1&1. I wasnt impressed much with the admin configs when setting it up. But, since we got all the dramas figured out, I dont think he has had a problem...and least none that he has been brave enuff to tell me about.

I'd suggest that if you arent experienced in it, that you get someone who is, especially as your moving a site.
