Default Marketing my newly launched article directory,Plz help.

Yesterday i've launched my article directory http://diggarticles.com.Now i am somwhat worried about the marketing of my directory.I am thinking about these strategies--
1.Google adword campaigning for keywords like add article, submit article, article directory ..(and please give other possible keywords)
2.Auto article submission from isnare.com and http://www.articlemarketer.com/universe.php
3.Mailing my friends and forum signature.
...and...??
Please give me more ideas.
P.S.I also welcome you to be the first to submit articles and get recognised as top authors for forever in my article directory!

There are some tips here. A more important tip would be, unless you yourself have some interesting writing styles and ideas for articles -- don't start an article site. The build it and they will provide the content thing is a decade out-of-date.

There are many thousands of these containers waiting for people who think pubilishing is the hard part -- like the old print on paper publisher. Hint: publishing on the web is the easy part. As your post states, you have little idea how to get potential contributors exposure and therefor revenue.

If the digital economy lowers the cost of competition, it raises other barriers -- namely differentiation. The web today is not a great place to be short on ideas. The "open for business" thing isn't an idea.

Hi Dcrux,
Did you mean that i should write myself for my article directory something unique and 'exclusive'? And people will love that and will be attracted to my directory automatically.
I am a regular contributor to goarticles.com , ideamarketers.com and searchwarp.com.(i dont write for affiliate promotion or backlinks ,indeed i didnot have any website before this article directory).
I'll like if you join my directory and write something.

It really depends on what is meant by "automatically." I've found a lot of people really mean "auto-magically."

I don't doubt that. I don't see the "me" part of your sentence - as in what your contributors get ....above and beyond what contributing to other, more established directories would yield. This may foreshadow future problems.

For example, if someone offers me the questionable opportunity to produce their web site "for the exposure," it presupposes there will be exposure. What many times happens is this ploy is due to the offerer 1)Not having the money to generate exposure for themselves, let alone anyone else. 2)Having some rather unsound ideas about business ...which makes that particular offerer very unlikely to exist long enough to provide good exposure. 3)Chief of those unsound ideas is misunderstanding the time value of money -- meaning you'll have to offer several times in future 'exposure' (fiat if ever there was) what you would pay for now.

But enough about purely hypothetical cases which have nothing to do with this topic. In short, I decline your generous offer.

Now i am somewhat rlaxed about the problem.98 new authors have joined my article directory during last 4 days. Its getting good exposure.Because i took some special steps to attract authors for example special software to distribute their articles to 20 other sites through members area etc.
Now i am thinking about a article writing competition (once i get 500 authors). The top authors will have one month free advertising on my homepage.

Hey,

Just my two cents, assumming its worth that much.

I started a niche site, and was looking for some articles. Lets say it about Cats!

Yes, I can write my own, but I was interested in also
linking to others sites that fits that niche.

"Goarticles" had some interesting articles, but the
sites they linked to were off the planet, and had not
one hair ball on them!

So, would I use these articles? Absolutely not, and
I also gave up looking in that article directory.

For what its worth!

Robert

Default I've clicked the link for your article directory but it went

I was wondering what software did you use to create your article directory?
I am looking at article dashboard and articledirectorypro.

My first install of article dashboard didn't go so well so i am toying with trying it again or just paying to have it configured and installed.

any ideas?
