Default Creating Ebooks

I have written material that I wish to be made into an ebook. Does anyone know how to create ebooks in .pdf format and to make them secure so no one can share them?

Is there software to do this or instructions? What is the best way or best software to use for this?

Thanks for the help!

I found this link on the Adobe website regarding creating E-books.

http://www.adobe.com/epaper/tips/acr...pdfs/eBook.pdf

I would suggest though, just do a google search for "How to create an E-book" ... or "How to publish an E-book".

Then once you've got that done, ask me how to sell your E-book online

Easy, I use Macromedia Freehand, and you can easily convert to pdf from there.

Keep in mind pdf is universal and widely accepted, but if you want live content in your ebook you can use exe or html

I would recommend creating a pdf and then password protecting it so it cant be edited. Adobe Acrobat is the best way, but there are plenty of free pdf creators that will do the same thing with mainly good results.

I wouldn't recommend using an ebook creator to make exe files as a lot of people wont open exe files because of the risk. Personally I would never download an exe except from someone I knew and trusted. A pdf will leave your book open to a much wider audience.

Hope that helps.

Friend of mine, another author, found my Solo Martial Arts Drills ebook on his harddrive, couldn't remember the password, so he didn't open it.

He then emailed me and asked me if that's how I wanted to leave it with customers. Since then I've has a strong copyright warning and a lead to my prepaid legal site, but that's it. The harder it is to get into your book the less repeat business you'll get

Are ebooks still bringing traffic and money the way that it did before? I mean there are lots of blogs and sites to get resources and information nowadays that you could get from ebooks.

I have published a book using Lulu. I was pleased with the result. And as an ebook it cost me nothing, just a cut of any sales.

Yes, people are still willing to pay for eBooks. In addition you can use the eBook itself to generate revenue by including an advert in it - so long as the ad isn't intrusive and doesnt detract from the user experience.

They produce good quality print books (a friend was blown away by the quality. For the price they charged, he was a bit dubious, but when he saw the finished result, he was most impressed.

You can get Lulu to also do online only publishing. You don't pay anything upfront for this. All Lulu does is charge you a percentage of the price you set. The onscreen process is very helpful.

This is something I published for a bit of fun:
Three Stories for Christmas by Martin Scholes (Book) in Literature & Fiction

I really must get down to some hard work and get some of my book projects finished!

Hi,

I have a website with over 100 osCommerce video tutorials. I have two options for visitors, watch online or buy an eBook.

Although they can see the osCommerce video tutorials on line for free, some people still prefer to buy the eBook and read offline.

Best regards

e-book to pdf conversion - free of charge and not a plugin as part of open office write at open office.org

save as .pdf and you've got it - i watermark the ones i'm selling direct and sign the footer (most of the time)

with every domain i sell, i try to develop an original product to accompany it. thus pdf is vital - there are other resources that can adapt the templates and create covers - simply - or you can hire some one inexpensively to create a cover as well. hth's ty for the info on lulu

There is a PDF printer as well, and it is free and it is very easy to use. There is PDF printer that is advanced, but honestly, the free does the job

Never use MS Word for your book. Three reasons.
1. Not everyone has Word
2. The formatting appears differently on other versions of PCs
3. People can copy and edit your book.

Always use pdf format for maximum compatibility of your ebook.
