Hello, I am willing to buy a gamblers database, but I would like to know how to guarantee they are actually gamblers.

The owner should be able to show you financials based on the database (i.e. gambler #1 lost $1,000 last month, #2 lost $300, etc). Just follow the money. For it to be worth any value, he should be able to prove income for at least the last 12 months. Otherwise, you're just rolling the dice.
