Default New! Great idea! A tax on going to work!

Most governments tax you for going to work (PAYE -Pay As You Earn- is what this is called in the UK) but now the government has an even better idea. They are going to tax to GO to work!

They are going to make you pay a tax on actually parking on your own employer's car park!

It is called the Workplace Parking Levy and is called a "stealth tax" by critics:-

Wewt!! Now, could you keep that a secret so it doesn't come here??

There was a proposed tax in Michigan, not sure if it passed or not, that would levy a surcharge on all high mpg / electric cars.. If it gets over 32mpg, I think, it got a surcharge added to it at the time of purchase.. The reason?? Good for the environment cars don't pay their "fair share" in road taxes because they don't buy enough gasoline..

I wonder if this should be in the global warming thread??

Governments are very creative in finding ways to milk the working man of his hard earned money. If they'd spend half that energy on spending the tax dollars wisely, we'd all be much better off.

Now that tax idea is truly bizarre! And twisted, too.
