Lightbulb The new name for 'Windows 7' can you Guess

Microsoft Says 'Windows 7' Will Be Called 'Windows 7'

What's in a name? A lot for Windows users apparently. For instance, the mention of Windows XP conjures up a decent OS for most Windows users while the word 'Vista', makes many of the same people nauseous and upset.

To keep things simple, Microsoft has now confirmed that the next OS - codenamed Windows 7 - will in fact be called Windows 7.

......
but 7 is a lot less than 98

  1. Finished in 2012?
  2. Are beta versions available?

Did you notice the ad's for the New MacBooks. Prettier, faster, but not cheaper.

Got some good recommendations.

They went off track with the naming of Vista (previously Longhorn) and may have realised as much when they saw how much people were taking the rip out of them. I think this is sensible.

taking the rip out of them; Isn't this down to Vista just won't run a lot of hardware? (Drivers, etc)

For all the crap I hear about Vista, people need to look back to when XP was released. It's a great OS now but it only became reliably stable after SP2.

I saw a video which is purportedly based on a real world test which showed that simply renaming Vista, changing the desktop theme and telling people that it's Microsoft's next gen OS got them to try it without hesitation. Most loved it.

Give Vista some time. When MS stops supporting XP you'll all change your tune.
