Default Obama's Experience in Foreign Policy

When asked about the situation in Georgia, Barack Obama said, “As long as The General Lee has enough air in its tires, I don’t think Georgia will be a problem.”

Easy mistake to make, consider that all but Bush is good for America.

It's really just a joke, but I find it a little disturbing that someone could think he actually made the mistake and said it, and that someone would defend it.

No, because unlike in Yugoslavia where the various factions were at least somewhat equal in terms of firepower, Russia clearly overwhelms Georgia. Abkhazia and South Ossetia are going to break away. The only question is going to be where they're going to draw the line and what they're going to do with the ethnic Georgians who are living 'on the wrong side' of that line.

Right. It seems that the illegal recognition of Kosovo will create a huge bill all around.

Oh well , it depends on how the assimilation of South Osettia / Abkazia goes on . If it is just violence free and no protests come form these areas we will quickly forget it . It is only violence / body bags that can sustain attention for a large time .

Funny that Obama was blasted by opponents for suggesting months ago that "Iran is tiny... The real threat is Russia"

Well, Iran ain't going to cause WW3.

Perhaps....but as WWI would demonstrate the spark can start in a small country (Serbia) and the resulting dominoes can bring in a wider range of countries....

Russia; last time I checked they lost in Afghanistan and I think the Finns beat them up pretty badly too.
But do you really think Obama knows what the General Lee is.

What about the presidential debate tonight and the debate between Sara Pailin and Joe Biden?

My own opinion, the possibility of Sara Palin (taking the bible literally) being USA's next president scares me.

I think the movie has not yet come here. Any of you that have seen Bill Maher's movie http://www.religulousmovie.net/ ?
