It seems to me that most successful products are simple things which didn't already exist, or which could be improved on. So let's get all those WPW entrepreneurial minds working to list things we need. Who knows, it may even give someone the idea of producing them. Here's mine:

The cord from the top of a pair of training pants had pulled out in the washing machine, and I was rethreading it, with a safety-pin. Not a difficult task, but an irritating one, which we all have to do occasionally. It occurred to me that there should be a proper tool for this job (and that there probably is - on sale in those shops which sell cotton thread, wool, knitting patterns etc. - which I never go in) If there isn't one, there should be, and if there is, it should be better advertised, because I've never heard of it. I'm not saying that it would be the product of the century, or that it would earn millions, but it would fill a need, and that's what business is supposed to be about, isn't it ? So come on - design one, get it manufactured and effectively marketed. I'd buy one (if it worked, and the price was right).

What would it be called Happy?

Maybe if we just repackage the safety pin with a nifty new name.

Chances are you will need different threader sizes for different pant sizes. Not to mention that when you need it you probably won't be able to find it and will end up using the safety pin anyway... if you can find that when you need it!

However just to humor you I can see the product already. It is flat like a pop-cycle stick and has about three holes that allow the string to be threaded through it. Uh Oh, the stick would probably get broken and you'll end up using the safety pin! sorry.

I was right too. It is from one of those knitting/embroidery/yarn-type shops.

But USA is a long way to swim from Denmark - Why won't they sell to other countries ? (Probably waiting to laugh at us, when our pants fall down).

Actually, that one looks a bit too complicated. I think Clicken has the right idea.

All it really needs to be is a safety pin - the same width as a standard one, but about four times as long.

That would do the job, I should imagine.

Get the old fashioned nappy pins or diaper pins. They are longer, plus they have a safety top on them. They'd work better, as they are longer.
