Working on edit and proofreading pages. Assisted by a herd of elephants on the roof (a team of builders are replacing our roof) and by a team of contractors outside who are re-paving our street as part of a refurbushment programme.

There's an especially irritating machinel that sounds like a giant dental drill.

NOISE!!!! ARGH! It is doing my head in!

Still, we will have a new roof and our office will not flood any more, we hope!

That was like working in 35 degrees (C) in the summer in the old buildings of the Central Bank of Norway. Sometimes, I took a break and went to the beach.

That is possible here today, since the sun is shining. Yesterday, was an hard day and I was working hard. How is it in England?

Some workoholics would perhaps say that I was hardly working.

Normally Martinscholes I would say it sounds like you had a bad day but...

A friend recently told me about a hauntingly bad day he had and now, I haven't had a single bad or annoying day.

Although - I wouldn't be fond of a herd of elephants unless I had ear plugs, head phones and a couple of pillow attached to the side of my head. It would make for a good laugh if nothing else.

Irritating machine? - (hey you got power, the generator must be working!)
Paving? - (cement? - Hey the water is back on - WOW!)
Roof? - (your roof will actually support the weight of 'People" hey Cool!)
Flood? - (you actually flood from the roof - It is not just the river rising , Thats novel)
Team of buiders? ( Is the road open now, so people can get to your place)

The water was not coming from the roof. The water was squirting up from a storm drain into our office, as the drain pipe from the roof went to a storm drain under the office. Our builders (God bless 'em) are re-routing the drain so that should not happen any more.

The construction workers accidentally closed both ends of the road at the same time on Tuesday, this was put right when we pointed this out to them.

On arriving back home my wife was grinning. "Listen to that!" she said. There had been road works in the road outside to fix the drains (ha! quite ironic, more drain problems!) and when they knocked off on Friday afternoon they left a big hole in the road covered by a large and very loose metal plate.

Every time a car goes over it it gives a massive clattering, bang. "She said: "I doubt many of us will get much sleep tonight!" She was right...
