I've just back, as you so kindly noticed, but didn't notice you were gone because I was gone.

Question. Is the quantity = 0 represented the same in all number bases? How about 1? how about too? So, let me get this straight. 0 - 9 are the same as decimal and all multiple of 6 base? |

1485. I'm in denial that I had to pull an all nighter this weekend only to come back to the office first thing this morning. Good news is we got SayItAloud launched. Bad news is, I am soo tired I am having a hard time taking joy in it.

1493 A bit of History here folks.
We were going through some old albums, and these photo's of The Graffspree Battleship going down were taken by my father. He was on one of the chasing fleet.

1494 - The Ajax, Achilles or Exeter?
Fantastic photos ctabuk. You might find this of interest: Quote:

Since the Exeter was heavily damaged, and forced to withdraw to the Falklands, that leaves Achilles or Ajax. Scuttling was a fate undeserved by such a fine vessel.

Heavy, cta-buk. I cannot imagine what's like for men (and womans) on and under the water knowing that, for example, those pics your father took could easily be his fate. Millions of allies died, 2m canadians alone - prolly 1/10 our population.
My best friends parents used to tell me about 'the buzz' of v1 and v2 and not knowing were they wood strike. They were just outside of london so didn't get the brunt of it. 1496 How many times I could read Slaughterhouse-Five - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Read Man's Search for Meaning - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia to understand what the enemy was about. I am haf, haha I mean half, german und ze uther haf scottish. I cannot comprehend what your father must have seen and felt, or his courage. |

1500, the number of hump days one who is 28.84 years old has lived through.
Nights, using myself as an example, about 10. Cost about 15 quid a pop, that. No way I could afford 1500 |

151! >proud<
number of pairs of severed hands I've gathered in order to be able to count to: 1501 (A million you say )(Really, it has been more like 2 hundred and twelve pairs, not all of them matching, but some ahem parts were missing and the digits didn't always add up, did they then?) |

Gosh. Those images were very poignant.
1502, now. We are cracking on, aren't we? |

[QUOTE=mikmikmikmik;423572]How many times I could read Slaughterhouse-Five - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia [/quote} A great read indeed. Quote:
His own personal horror happened on D-day. As an MP in the U.S. Army Air Corp., he was assigned to a C47 carrying paratroopers to Normandy. At the time, it was not uncommon for the static line to not disconnect from the parachute, resulting in the jumper being trailed behind the aircraft, being repeatedly slammed into the fuselage until he was a bloody pulp. It was my father's duty that day to cut the poor fellow loose, so as to clear the way for the rest of the group. That the guy was either already dead, or unlikely to survive even had it been possible to retrieve him, did not serve to make his task any easier. That MPs were selected for such job owed to the fact that, as they were billoted separately from the jumpers, there was much less chance of the MP and the jumpers having a personal friendship that might serve to interfere with the necessary swift execution of the hellish task if and when needed. My father told that story once, and would never again visit it.

1510 Possibly very rare - The Illustrious being bombed and nearly destroyed at sea. Taken by my father from the HMS Queen Elizabeth
![]() Early in 1941, she suffered extensive damage and many casualties in a relentless attack by Stuka dive-bombers. After emergency repairs, she managed to escape to the United States where she was refitted and returned to active service in late 1941. After playing a major role in operations off Diego Suarez, Salerno and Sumatra, she supported the US landings at Okinawa. This was to be her final action of the war. After hostilities had ended, she returned to home waters as a training and trials ship before being laid up in 1954 and finally scrapped in 1957.

At a different machine than usual; had to install FF so that I could get to the end of this thread. Still no sign that the crew at WPW is making any progress re. the various problems resulting from the page redesign.
