By my figures it will actually take 1500 years, at our current rate, to count to 1 million.

Here's the formula (correct me if I'm wrong -- math never was my strong subject!) :

G = Goal (1 million)
C = Current count (rounded to 1,000)
E = Elapsed time to achieve current count (rounded to 1.5 years since first post)
T = Total time it will take to achieve G (in years)

(G / C) * E = T

I also estimate that if we pick up the pace and have 10 posts per day, we can shorten it to 274 years (from today).

We can do it in 14 years if we have 200 counts per day.

D = Daily count rate (200)
T = Total years left
