Default Increased traffic to WPW

Most users ever online was 645, Yesterday at 09:21 PM.

Before the last modifications, visitor level fluctuated around 100.
Yesterday the level fluctuated around 200.
Now, when I write these words, the level fluctuate around 300.

Where will this end?

Are the admins prepared for the increased traffic?

Or have you switched to Vbulletin software?

Oh Kjell, Kjell, when will you learn?

This is all a great big fat publicity stunt. The forum hasn't changed at all - its just all just a trick of the imagination.

Joking aside (and without sounding like a brown-noser), I like the new changes and I think this has bought WPW in line (if not slightly ahead) of some of the other forums.

As long as I live or the other way round

The day I finish learning, I am not Finish (I am Norwegian), but finished

To be more precise: Have a brain with flat specter.

Over 500 right now. I think that they are starting to implement some of the changes so often discussed around here. There is still a lot that can be done, but traffic is never a bad thing.

I think it's all due to the brilliant reputation system...

-just kidding. More likely it's the smilies.

As for our preparedness -- I haven't seen any major problems. Postcounts are up a bit, but spam isn't out of control or anything.

There are lots of things we can do now that we've swapped platforms. Things are just now getting settled down and debugged so I haven't really had time to get into too much just yet.

Little add-ons like the chatbox and the arcade were me figuring out how modifications work as much as anything. Some of them are easier than others.

But yes, we're completely vBulletin now -- much to my delight. Nothing against phpbb, I'm sure it works fine for lots of folks -- but I hate it. A lot.

I have noted, on my own forum, that some Bots can be present in a lot of (sub)forums at the same time. So here are the questions:

1. Do bots count as visitors?
2. If a visitor do no log out, is (s)he / the BOT automatically logged out after a while?
3. Is there a difference from the earlier phpBB version of the WPW forum? In other words, is the algorithm counting visitors identical?

I would have to agree with Mike... it's the brilliant Rep system that has brought on this many new / active users!

Now that WPW is on VBulletin like V7N / DigitalPoint / TWT etc... I think that you'll see more and more people coming in and enjoying the information as much as the community

it's all shiny and web 2.0ish

Definately think it will be soon. And the nice part is watching how many people are in each area at any particular time. Great to see how active we're becoming.

Yes. . very good, but you are slowly loosing me, my slow connection and WPW is time consuming that is beyond a joke. I guess I will have to move to the city.
